It was cold & icy the day of Baby Shah’s in home newborn session but you would never know it by looking at the beautiful natural light we had. As soon as I laid eyes on that sweet baby, I just couldn’t get over his hair! He had the most incredible head of hair I’ve ever seen on a newborn! His sweet little face and calm disposition were the icing on the cake. Mom looked beautiful even though she was under the weather and had a toddler & newborn to take care of. We did the entire session in the nursery because the light was just so beautiful.
One of the biggest keys to an in home newborn session is the lighting. Natural light is a must and I find that the places the lend to that perfect lighting tend to be the family room, master bedroom & nursery. Shooting close to a window helps as well. The nice thing about in home newborn sessions is that I can capture the baby & family in their natural home setting. Families can look back and remember what their home looked like and those little details that get lost over time. As newborns, they seem so tiny in their crib- it’s easy to forget those little details sometimes.
